Three Arizona Restaurants Are Among The Top 100 Places To Eat In America This Year
If you need help coming up with a restaurant bucket list for this year, look no further. Yelp just announced its annual top 100 list, and three Arizona spots made the cut.

Chef and owner, Leo Madrigal, always dreamt of owning his own restaurant while working in others for over 20 years. He finally made that happen with Cocina Madrigal, which made it into the top five on Yelp's 2020 restaurant list.

Believe it or not, the meatless wild mushroom enchiladas are one of the bestselling items, along with all six taco varieties. Other noteworthy menu items at Cocina Madrigal include made-to-order guacamole, grilled elote, and build-your-own burritos. Don't forget to wash your meal down with some tequila for the most authentic dining experience possible.

The epitome of a hole in the wall, Barista del Barrio got its start just two years ago when a mother, son, and daughter trio decided to start giving back to their community in a meaningful way. What began as a simple coffee cart quickly blossomed into a thriving brick-and-mortar business.

Signature drinks like the Barrio Hochesso (horchata with a shot of espresso) and Mexican Mochas add a unique twist to your usual morning cup of joe. In terms of food, you can't go wrong with a breakfast burrito stuffed full of beans, eggs, and your choice of meat. We highly recommend the homemade chorizo, created with a secret blend of herbs and spices that make it irresistible. Oh, and don't you dare skip the salsa - it's spiked with oregano and packs the perfect amount of punch. There are even vegan tamales stuffed with calabacitas for all the meatless folks!

Nestled in the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon, Indian Gardens Cafe & Market is a historic general store dating to 1947. Over the years, it has worn many hats: grocery store, gas station, bar, ice cream parlor, antique store, sandwich shop, just to name a few.

One thing, however, has remained unchanged, and that is the building's status as a gathering place for tourists and locals alike. Stop in for some pancakes, avocado toast, a bacon and brie melt, or anything in between for a pick-me-up before a long day of hiking the red rocks.
Note: Indian Gardens Cafe & Market is temporarily closed, but the restaurant plans to reopen in late 2020/early 2021. Keep an eye on its website for updates!
