There are so many hiking trails throughout Arizona that it would take a lifetime to explore them all. Here’s a trail that’s short, picturesque, and easy enough that just about everyone can tackle it.
The Aspen Nature Loop is located in the Coconino National Forest. To find the trailhead, drive along US 180 north of Flagstaff for seven miles, then turn off onto Snowbowl Road and drive another seven miles to the parking lot.
The trail makes a 2.5-mile loop, and is considered easy for most hikers. Bring along plenty of water, and a camera to capture the magnificent views you'll see along the way.
You'll walk along through meadows filled with gently waving grasses and plants. Keep an eye out for the many birds who call this place home - you might see jays, flickers, and warblers.
This easy trail is perfect for kids, and easy enough that any hiker will enjoy the natural surroundings without even breaking a sweat. Allow about an hour to complete the hike.
