The best food is homemade from the heart, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Stumpy’s Pizza & Subs in Arizona. This family-owned neighborhood restaurant has been serving the Phoenix area since 1999, and their quality and attention to detail are second to none. There’s something for everyone on the gigantic menu, whether you’re craving a meatball sub or fresh veggie pizza.
Most people don't go searching for authentic Italian food in strip malls, so Stumpy's is a pleasant surprise.
This locally owned, mom-and-pop pizza shop is a no-frills eatery specializing in delicious pizza and sub sandwiches that'll keep you coming back for more.
The interior of the restaurant is small, yet cozy, encouraging conversation among friends.
If it's pizza you're craving, you can either build your own or choose one of the signature pies. Either way, the hand-tossed dough and more than two dozen fresh toppings promise to render your taste buds speechless.
"The Works" features four different types of meat, while "The Greek" tops a garlic olive oil base with Kalamata olives, banana pepper, red onion, artichoke hearts, and both feta and mozzarella cheeses. Pictured here is the "Pizza Crisp," or the Stumpy's rendition of cheesy garlic bread. (Yes, it's as delicious as it looks.)
Pizza is only a small part of the menu, so if you aren't the biggest fan, you're not out of luck.
Both hot and cold sandwiches are available, and just like the pizza, you can either build your own or go with a tried-and-true classic. From a good old-fashioned Italian sub to a roast beef melt with smoked provolone, everything is absolutely scrumptious.
Filled to the brim with marinara sauce, three cheeses, and your choice of either veggies or "The Works," you're in for a heavenly experience with each mouthful. Other menu items include wings, salad, and pasta dishes including lasagna, manicotti, and baked ziti.
Address: 1331 East Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
