Nothing calms a raging sweet tooth quite like a good old-fashioned milkshake—but sometimes, drastic measures are necessary to really satisfy that sugar craving. Luckily, the shakes at Soda Jerk Co. Milkshake Bar in Phoenix are anything but old-fashioned, featuring outrageous toppings (think entire pieces of cake) unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Your taste buds will thank you for checking out this epic dessert spot, which just may be one of the best in Arizona.
New to High Street, Soda Jerk Co. opened its doors in late October.
This retro milkshake bar is a major throwback to the days of jukeboxes and Friday night sock hops. There is, however, one little caveat—the outrageous milkshakes served here are unlike anything from circa-1950s soda fountains.
In keeping with the nostalgic theme, vintage barstools invite you to take a seat and check out the menu.
Choose between eight different flavors, with ice cream bases ranging from plain chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry to more inventive options like cotton candy and Oreo.
There's a lot of room for creativity here, since soda flavors vary so widely. From good ol' fashioned root beer to tangy lemon berry, there's something for everyone—and we haven't even gotten to the toppings yet. Chocolate-dipped graham crackers, Orange Dream ice cream treats, and a piece of apple pie are just a few of the indulgent garnishments.
Look out for seasonal, limited-time treats like this "Hocus Pocus Float" from Halloween!
It featured apple soda poured over salted caramel ice cream, a frosting and Halloween candy rim, and whipped cream, cotton candy, a Caramel Apple Pop, and spider ring on top. We can't wait to see what the next season has in store!
Soda Jerk Co. is experimenting with hours, but they're currently open Monday-Thursday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 p.m. until 9 p.m. (It is closed on Sunday.)
