Sedona might be the unofficial hiking capital of Arizona, but nearby Cottonwood is also a nature lover’s dream. This small town of around 12,000 is home to a little-known hiking trail that runs alongside the pristine Verde River. Cottonwood also boasts many incredible restaurants, including the oh-so charming Old Town Red Rooster Cafe. After enjoying a scenic hike, we’ll refuel with a hearty meal for an adventure sure to leave our bellies, hearts, and souls full of small-town charm and gratitude for our beautiful state (and delicious food!). This little town is definitely one of the best hidden gems in Arizona, and we can’t wait for you to check it out.
Have you ever visited Cottonwood, one of the best hidden gems in Arizona? If so, did you embark on the Jail Trail River Walk or eat at the Old Town Red Rooster Cafe? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
