2. Alamo Canyon Primitive Campground: Ajo

3. Tuweep Campground: Grand Canyon

If you really want to get away from it all, a campground at the Grand Canyon may be the place for you. Be forewarned, though, that it is quite challenging to get here and there are no amenities, no services for gas and food, or cell service. However, if you're up for the adventure and come prepared, you can camp overlooking the Colorado River with amazing views of the sunset and sunrise each day. Located just a few miles from Blue Ridge Reservoir, this beautiful property offers both tent and trailer camping sites from early May through late September as well as picnic tables, toilets, and drinking water. This spacious area is home to a wide array of wildlife including deer, mules, javelina, coyotes, and numerous bird species.
