Nowhere else in Arizona can you get the full cowboy experience than at this restaurant that even has a Longhorn steer (named Horney, if it matters) out front to greet every visitor. Rustler’s Rooste opened 47 years ago, in 1971, and has been a favorite experience of locals and visitors alike ever since. Perched high on a butte and delivering forever views, this 2-story restaurant is as unique as they come.
Seriously. How many steakhouses can you name that have a pet Longhorn out front? But that's not even the beginning of the fun that's in store for you at this eatery...
Step inside and hop on the one-of-a-kind tin slide to enter the downstairs dining room. (If that's too much excitement for one day, then you can opt for a more traditional entry via the stairs.)
The tables offer ample room for everyone to spread out and enjoy this amazing experience and the incredible cowboy feast that Rustler's Rooste is so famous for serving.
Or, if you're a better team player when you get to order your own entree, you can do that too. Rustler's Rooste is famous for their sizzlin' steaks, but you'll find everything from Southern fried chicken to burgers and seafood on the menu.
A kid's menu doles out much of the same, but in smaller portions. If you look closely at the menu, you'll see an asterisk pointing out that kids "can eat free, just ask your server." Don't forget to ask!
Rustler's Rooste is open daily for dinner, and if you time it right, the huge windows afford every single table a perfect view of the sunset. Outdoor seating is also available.
Rustler’s Rooste is located at 8383 S 48th St., Phoenix, AZ 85044. It’s 10 minutes from downtown Phoenix, 20 minutes from Scottsdale, and 90 minutes from Tucson. Rustler’s Rooste is open every day of the year, except one: Superbowl Sunday. The steakhouse is open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Learn more on the official website of Rustler’s Rooste.
