I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Known for some of the most stunning natural wonders in the country including the Grand Canyon and Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona’s beauty is unmatched. But when you can’t get out of the city to explore the natural landscapes, there are some hidden man-made wonders to consider. And these places will allow you to escape, if only for a little while. There’s one restaurant with an oasis-like patio and its very own waterfall. If you haven’t yet dined at Carlsbad Tavern in Scottsdale, Arizona, you’ll want to make plans to check out this hidden gem restaurant.
I've driven past Carlsbad Tavern so many times and have been intrigued by its appearance. Its adobe exterior and bat cave theme really stands out among the rest of the buildings in the area!
Enjoy a singular dining experience here at Carlsbad Tavern. With its very own waterfall that cascades into a pool below, you'll feel transported to an enchanting paradise as you dine.
Serving authentic New Mexican cuisine, this wonderful restaurant in Scottsdale is worth checking out. Whether you've had New Mexican food before or you're trying it for the first time, you can expect any dish you order to be fresh and flavorful.
Of course, you can add a sopaipilla with honey to your meal. Sopaipillas are my favorite part of New Mexican cuisine! Although nachos and queso or even the Carlsbad Tacos make a great appetizer as well.
Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., brunch is served here at Carlsbad Tavern! From the brunch menu, you can select brunch dishes like the Carlsbad Benedict, Tavern Skillets, Carne Adovada & Eggs, and so much more!
And feel free to get a mimosa by the glass or carafe. Flavors include orange, blood orange, cranberry, pineapple, and prickly pear.
The patio, especially at night, has an air of romance as you dine outdoors under the stars and with views of a rushing waterfall. It's the perfect place for a date night! If you haven't been to Carlsbad Tavern yet for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch, you should make it a point to go.
