I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Exciting things always seem to be happening at the Phoenix Zoo. Located on Galvin Parkway in Phoenix and next to both the Desert Botanical Garden and Papago Park, the Phoenix Zoo is a beloved attraction in the Valley. With thousands of animals and 400 species, there's just so much to see and learn about here.
On November 20, 2023, Phoenix Zoo debuted its latest addition -- Predator Ridge. This 6-acre expansion is part of the African Trail section of the zoo features some of the world's apex predators.
Among the top predators you'll see, of course, are lions. And the exhibits are set up in such a way that you'll have a better and more up-close-and-personal look at these magnificent animals.
The exhibit also includes a 20-foot-tall watchtower called the Predator Passage Tower. From the top, you'll have a bird's-eye view of the lions, hyenas, and other animals that are part of the exhibit.
