I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
While growing up on the east coast, I had my fill of some of the best Italian food. So, I never really thought I could find amazing Italian restaurants after moving out west. However, there are some absolutely incredible Italian restaurants in Arizona that are worth trying. One, in particular, is Marcellino Ristorante in Scottsdale and you’ll want to order one of its heavenly hand-crafted pasta dishes.
Located in Old Town Scottsdale, Marcellino Ristorante was opened by Chef Marcellino Verzino over a decade ago. Chef Verzino was born and raised in Italy so you know you'll experience authentic Italian cuisine here.
Whether it's for a date night or an outing with family or friends, dining at Marcellino Ristorante is a dining experience. Either dine al fresco on the lovely patio or indoors in the elegant dining room complete with linen-clad tables illuminated by candlelight. The ambiance here is hard to beat.
The biggest draw to Marcellino's is, perhaps, the fresh, handmade pasta. One bite into a pasta dish here and you'll find out for yourself why it's won awards for its pasta.
With a more farm-to-table philosophy, this Italian restaurant leans towards using fresh, seasonal ingredients. And you can certainly taste the difference.
Fresh seafood is also incorporated into many of the pasta dishes. Try the Tagliolini Mare e Monte with long pasta served with tomato sauce, shrimp, and mushrooms.
If you love gnocchi, you'll love the Gnocchi Sorrentina. This dish of handmade potato/pasta dumplings is served with your choice of tomato sauce or creamy gorgonzola sauce.
At Marcellino's Ristorante, you'll discover a tempting taste of Italy. From the antipasti to the hand-crafted pasta, you'll find yourself wanting to come back here again and again.
