Nestled in the hills of the Huachuca Mountain Range is a quaint stone chapel surrounded by the natural beauty of Arizona. Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine is a simply stunning place of worship in Arizona where the beauty of nature only enhances your spiritual journey. Do you know about this serene spiritual shrine?
In 1987, Gerald and Patricia Chouinard stumbled upon the future home of Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine while on a hike. They were struck by the beauty of the area and purchased land to build a home on.
However, the couple took a religious pilgrimage that altered the course of their lives and inspired them to construct a shrine in the Arizona mountains.
In March of 1998, the Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine opened to the public.
Over the years the shrine has grown to include beautiful statues, 14 outdoor Stations of the Cross, the small Our Lady of Guadalupe grotto, and other prayer areas.

In 2011, a wildfire damaged the chapel and devastated the building's interior. The mural of Jesus was re-created by the original local artist, Donna Ramaeker.
