Making the drive between Flagstaff and Sedona anytime soon? You’ll want to be sure to stop off at this amazing little overlook before you drop down or climb out of the canyon (depending upon which direction you’re headed). The overlook park has spectacular long range views of the Coconino National Forest and more surprises in store too. Take a peek below.
Oak Creek Vista Overlook is located on AZ-89A, halfway between Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona. It’s open 365 days a year from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Native American vendor booths may not always be present. Be advised, there are restroom facilities at the overlook, but they are porta potty type even though they’re in buildings. Get more information from the official website of the U.S. Forest Service. (Note, this page of the Forest Service website currently states the overlook was closed in October for paving. The overlook is open now and the site just needs updating.)
