There’s something so enchanting about bridges. Walking across them is like stepping through a portal to another world, and this one is no exception. It leads into one of Arizona’s most majestic mountain ranges, begging to be crossed by everyone who loves spending time in nature.
This 133-foot long, 14-foot wide bridge is a gateway to the majestic White Tank Mountains. Thousands of hikers, mountain bikers, and others cross it each year to visit Skyline Regional Park, a nearly 9,000-acre natural area on the other side.
Over a dozen trails run through the park, varying in length from less than one to three miles. Click here for a printable map and some helpful tips about safe hiking practices.
Regardless of which trail you choose, breathtaking views are guaranteed. Wildlife abounds, so expect to encounter javelina, desert foxes, raptors, and Sonoran Desert tortoises.
Several family activities take place throughout the year, such as guided hikes and stargazing parties. There are few better bonding activities than enjoying nature with the people you love most!
Everyone knows Arizona has some of the nation's most unrivaled sunsets, and this is a perfect viewing arena. Panoramic views seem to go on forever, providing awe-inspiring vistas of the distant horizon.
Have you ever crossed this bridge into Skyline Regional Park? Are there any other similar places in Arizona?
