Located eight miles from the rim of the Grand Canyon, is the remote village of Supai. It is home to the Havasupai Tribe – and the most remote chapel in the lower 48 states.
The only way to see this remote chapel is to secure one of the coveted camping or lodging reservations that sell out each year in a matter of hours. Camping permits went on sale for 2018 on Feb. 19 and sold out almost immediately. Lodge permits for 2019 go on sale in June 2018. Occasionally, there are cancellations for the lodge, creating a last-minute opportunity to be among the relatively few lucky souls to visit annually if you were not among the few to secure a permit in advance. More information can be obtained on the official website for Supai, Arizona/The Havasupai Tribe.
