While nothing is more important than the food itself when dining out at a restaurant, the atmosphere is a close second. Maynards in Tucson is the best of both worlds, serving up fresh, local cuisine in a historic train depot brimming with charm. Once you eat here, you may never want to go anywhere else for a meal.
The charm of a historic train depot is simply unparalleled, and Maynards takes it to a whole new level by offering a charming, farm-to-table restaurant inside the century-old building.
Between the black leather seats, deep orange lamps at each table, and windows that extend from the ceiling down to just inches above the floor, the whole ambiance seems very Gatsby-inspired.

Outdoor seating is also available, and there's usually live music playing on any given night.
While you eat, marvel at the organic garden whose bounty is responsible for much of the food on your plate. Be warned, though: reservations are recommended if you want to sit outside, as tables are highly coveted.
From on-tap beer to wine by the glass to handcrafted cocktails featuring seasonal ingredients, there's a perfect sip for everyone. And if you opt to sit at the bar, a variety of small plates that perfectly compliment the drinks are available.
Address: 400 North Toole Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701.
Hours are 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday.
Visit the Maynards website or Facebook page to learn more and/or make a reservation.
