I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
If you’re someone who’s always on the hunt for a hidden gem in Arizona, there are so many to be discovered. And for that alone, I think we’re so lucky! From lesser-known state parks to unassuming restaurants, this is such an exciting state to explore. One little-known destination in Arizona that’s just waiting to be discovered is the Ignite Sign Art Museum, Located in Tucson, this is one fascinating hidden gem just waiting for you to visit.
Ignite Neon Art Museum first opened its doors in 2018. This unique museum was started by Jude Cook who owned his own sign business many years ago. About a decade ago, he started to restore some of the best-known neon signs in Tucson and continues to do so today.
Cook also amassed his own collection of neon signs over the years and finally decided to share his collection with others by opening up his own museum. And if you have a chance to come to Tucson and check out Ignite Neon Art Museum, it's well worth a stop!
The museum offers plenty of interactive displays as well as scavenger hunts that kids (and adults) of all ages can enjoy. You can solve puzzles and even create your own signs just for fun!
Occasionally, the museum hosts classes where you can learn how to work with neon and create a sculpture. Classes are taught by museum owner and sign expert, Jude Cook.
