The desert isn’t exactly known for sparkling oases, so waterfront dining is a virtually unheard of phenomenon here in Arizona. Along the shores of beautiful Lake Havasu is Shugrue’s, a long-standing restaurant serving up scrumptious food with equally amazing views.
Since 1988, Shugrue's has been redefining the restaurant business in Western Arizona. Waterfront dining options are few and far between in a landlocked state, so getting to simultaneously enjoy a meal and breathtaking views is a game-changing experience for we desert rats.
If you're coming for dinner, arrive early to get a better chance at snagging a window seat. This is the restaurant's most coveted dining area, and for good reason - just look at how peaceful Lake Havasu looks as its turquoise water sparkles beneath the majestic London Bridge.
Start your meal off with an appetizer almost as refreshing as the view accompanying it. Salads such as this traditional tomato mozzarella, crab cakes, shrimp cocktails, and oysters are just a few of the many delicious starters to choose from.
Nothing completes the waterfront dining experience quite like a good old-fashioned burger, and Shugrue's delivers on all fronts: taste, texture, portion size, and appearance. These babies come piled high with all the goods, like cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions, bacon, and jalapenos. Veggie patties are also available for those who adhere to a plant-based diet!
Hearty entrees like Chicken Parmesan make sure even guests with the most insatiable appetites leave happily stuffed. Breaded and cooked to tender, juicy perfection, smothered in gooey cheese, and swimming in a pool of tangy red sauce, this classic Italian comfort food dish never gets old.
Dessert is not optional when dining at Shugrue's - after all, "bakery" makes up half its name! How does a slice of decadent cookie dough and brownie cheesecake sound? Or perhaps something lighter such as strawberry creme pie hits the spot after a big dinner. No matter what you're craving, something on the menu is guaranteed to satisfy.
Marvel at the soothing rustle of palm trees on a breezy summer day as you enjoy great food, amazing drinks, and lots of laughter with good company. Happy hour is 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day, and weekly Sunday brunch includes a complimentary mimosa or glass of champagne.
