Albuquerque isn’t the only place where hot air balloons take to the skies! We have a festival of our own right here in Arizona, and it gives the original a run for its money. With dozens of multicolored balloons and activities for the whole family, this unique event in the English Village of Lake Havasu City is one you don’t want to miss.
The three-day Havasu Balloon Festival transforms Lake Havasu City into a sea of color. Dozens of hot air balloons ascend over the English Village, making for an absolutely breathtaking scene.
Gates open at noon on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Visitors can peruse vendor booths, take balloon rides, and listen to live entertainment all day long.
A mass ascension will take place each evening at 4:30 p.m. You'll see a wide array of shapes and characters, from fish to birds and everything in-between.
Watch the spectacle on dry land or while floating in a gondola underneath the iconic London Bridge. You'll be completely surrounded, with balloons descending so low they nearly touch the water.
Additional activities include skydivers, carnival rides, an emergency vehicle display, airshows, a giant walk-in balloon for kids to play in, and so much more. Click here for a complete list of attractions.
Interested in putting your photography skills to the test? This entire gallery is comprised of last year's winners, and you can join them (and possibly receive a $500 prize!) by sending in your work here after the festival.
The festival will take place at Lake Havasu State Park, which is located at 699 London Bridge Rd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403. Tickets can be purchased on-site and are valid for all four days of the event.
