I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
The Grand Canyon State has so many museums that it can be quite overwhelming. Head to any city or town across the state and you can find a fascinating museum where you can see art, artifacts, historical exhibits, and more. If want to explore an interesting small-town museum in Arizona, the town of Bisbee has one you’ll love. The Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum is a must-visit attraction for anyone exploring this historic town.
There's no other town in America quite like Bisbee. This quirky, unique Arizona town has a rich mining history and is a wonderful day trip or weekend getaway destination.
One of the best places to learn about the town's history is at the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum located at 5 Queen Copper Plaza. It's housed inside the former Phelps Dodge General Office which was built in 1895 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bisbee was known as a copper mining town and played an integral role in the history of America's industrialization. It's a true trip back into the town's past with informative and interactive exhibits.
One of the most incredible exhibits here is the crystal cave. This experience was expertly curated by designers from the Smithsonian and will lead you on an experience as you wind your way through a cave filled with crystals and learn about the town's mining history.
