Arizona is no stranger to folklore. Cursed mines with hidden treasure, haunted hotels, and abandoned jails where the vengeful spirits of former prisoners run amok are just a few examples of the alleged paranormal activity that goes on in our state. One more place we can add to the list is Crook Tunnel. This former railroad thoroughfare has born witness to several tragedies, visitors report all sorts of unexplained phenomena.
Considering how remote the tunnel is, you'll have to traverse a pretty gravel road en route.
As a train was traveling through, several large rocks lost their holding and collided with it. It is unknown whether the passengers were killed or not, but traffic was unable to pass through for some time until the boulders were removed.
A man by the name of Henry Marks was hit by an oncoming train, his body left to rot in the passageway until a few unfortunate souls stumbled upon it later that evening.
