You’ll be hard-pressed to find a place with a more haunted history than the Oliver House Bed and Breakfast in Bisbee. Easily one of the most haunted hotels in Arizona, the building has seen at least 26 deaths since it first opened in the early 1900s. There’s a good chance you’ll see a ghost during your stay – and even if not, the old-fashioned charm is memorable enough on its own.
Situated atop a verdant hill overlooking downtown Bisbee, the Oliver House Bed and Breakfast is a historic old building with quite a colorful past.
It was founded in the early 20th century by a mining tycoon Henry Oliver and his wife, Edith, as housing for the bigwigs of the Calumet & Arizona Mining Company.
Over time, the building started to house mine workers as well as executives, until it was purchased by Dennis Schranz in the late 1980s after the mines dried up.
Now under new management and in the process of being revitalized, the Oliver House still retains its historic, old-fashioned charm. After all, the ghosts might leave if their surroundings became too unfamiliar.
Plus, the views from the front balcony are unbeatable! You can practically see all of Bisbee from up here.
There are nine available rooms. Some of them have a private bath, while others do not. Visit the Oliver House website or Facebook page for more information and/or to book your stay.
