No matter where you are in Arizona, rest assured a haunted hotel is likely nearby. Even still, one Flagstaff institution stands out among the crowd. The 93-year-old Hotel Monte Vista has its fair share of ghost stories, ranging from a dancing couple to a little boy who knocks on the doors of overnight guests. Three rooms, in particular, are said to be the most haunted — are you brave enough to stay?
Just one block north of Route 66, Hotel Monte Vista is a downtown Flagstaff icon.
From a dancing couple to the infamous "phantom bellboy" who knocks on guestroom doors at night, the ghost stories are almost as extensive as the hotel's history.
Rooms 220, 305, and 306 are supposedly the most haunted.
They're said to harbor the spirits of a butcher, elderly woman in a rocking chair, and two prostitutes who were killed during their visit to the hotel.
All those paranormal encounters can sure make you hungry, so head to the Lotus Lounge for a delicious meal and handcrafted cocktails.
The Pan-Asian cuisine is scary good, and you'll forget about the hauntings after just one bite. You can also grab a seat at the Monte Vista Cocktail Lounge, which served as the first speakeasy in Flagstaff and is almost certainly haunted.
