I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Arizona is full of history and full of spooky haunted places. While there are haunted houses and other haunted attractions that pop up around the Halloween season, there are some places that remain haunted year-round. Take, for example, Four Peaks Brewery. Occupying a historic building, this brewery has had its fair share of paranormal activity over the years. Not only has it been featured on an episode of Ghost Adventures this year but, if you’re looking for haunted tours in Arizona, the brewery is offering Ghost Tours this fall.
The Four Peaks Brewery location in Tempe is one-of-a-kind. First of all, it occupies The Old Creamery Building on 8th Street which was once a creamery and ice factory. This building is over 100 years old.
Secondly, this Four Peaks location has some ghostly residents and paranormal activity. Because of this, the brewery was featured in an episode of Ghost Adventures on the Discovery Channel. The episode, titled "Terror in Tempe," premiered on August 16, 2023.
The brewery is home to a few resident ghosts: a gray man, a little girl, and Victor Vogel, who had been the general manager of the former Borden Creamery. Over the years, there have been countless sightings of apparitions, shadow people, and paranormal activity like feelings of being touched when no one was there.
Back before the brewery opened in 1997, the head brewer Andy decided to hold a séance. During that time, Andy actually met and had a conversation with Victor who had passed away in 1972!
As the story goes, Victor told Andy about a near-death experience he had in the building. This information was confirmed with Victor's living relatives. Talk about spooky!
If you want to learn the brewery's history and hear ghost stories (and maybe have a paranormal experience), Four Peaks Brewery is hosting Ghost Tours from September 17 and November 1 this year.
