No matter how many times you’ve visited Arizona’s most iconic natural wonder, there’s always a new way to experience it. One of the tallest bridges in the entire country, the Grand Canyon Skywalk, is a translucent platform that dangles thousands of feet in the air. It’s a thrilling, and totally bucket-list-worthy experience you’ll never forget.
At 720 feet tall, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is the 5th tallest bridge in the U.S. Here in Arizona, only the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge on the Colorado River looms higher.
You'll find the Skywalk at Eagle Point, on the west side of the Grand Canyon.
There's a reason this architectural wonder is known worldwide. Jutting out 70 feet from the rim's edge, the Skywalk dangles 4,000 feet above the canyon floor.
At dawn and in the evening hours, the Skywalk is more beautiful than ever. Pastel hues impart an ethereal glow onto the clouds that reflects off of the bridge.
This awe-inspiring scene will be forever etched into your memory.
Peak visitation hours at the Skywalk are from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Arrive in the morning to beat the crowd; ticket sales end at 5:30 p.m. between March and October.
Cameras and cell phones aren't allowed on the bridge. Professional photographers are available to take pictures for $16 each or $69.90 for a USB drive of all digital photos.
Although undoubtedly the main attraction, the Skywalk isn't all Eagle Point has to offer. Guests have the opportunity to explore a Native American village, watch traditional dances, and shop for authentic, handmade merchandise.
You can also dine at Sky View Restaurant, which boasts delicious food and unparalleled views of the Skywalk and western Grand Canyon beyond.
General admission to the West Rim is $39 and includes shuttle service to two incredible viewpoints. This does not include access to the Skywalk, which is an extra $20.
Add on a meal voucher for $19 and much on your choice of a cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, or vegetarian Beyond Burger. All entrees are served with beer battered fries and a soft drink.
Please note: the gift shop is currently closed. Visit the Grand Canyon West website or Facebook page to learn more.
