Arizonans have ample things to do in the way of vacation-worthy ventures and day trips right here at home to ever want (or need) to leave! For instance, what could more adventurous and thrilling than hopping a vintage train bound for the Grand Canyon?
All aboard the Grand Canyon Railway for a 65-mile journey from Williams, AZ all the way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The two hour and fifteen minute ride is a journey like no other, and perfect for entertaining everyone in the family.
The day trip doles out some unexpected fun — and just when you'd least expect it. In addition to the sights outside the windows of this historic train, don't be surprised if a cowboy roams through your train car singing songs of the Old West.
Or if a couple of bandits chase down the train in an effort to rob it. Will they be able to stop the train? You'll need to take the ride to find out...
And, of course, no train ride through the Arizona countryside would be complete without a cowboy shootout.
The train departs from Williams and travels to Grand Canyon Village, where you'll have a little more than 3.5 hours to explore the Village and the South Rim.
Take in the breathtaking colorful views of the Grand Canyon from the walking trails and observation decks high above. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, head down one of the many trails for further exploration.
Just be sure to be back in time to catch the train's departure back to Williams in the late afternoon.
What a special and unique way to experience the beauty of the Arizona countryside while also getting reacquainted with all the Grand Canyon Village has to offer (shopping, dining, and forever views).
