Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Christmas might be over, but light shows aren’t – at least, not here in Arizona. Every night until March, psychedelic beams and pulsating sounds turn the Desert Botanical Garden into a striking masterpiece. See for yourself:
Like a living canvas, the desert is set ablaze with brilliant lights and sounds that paint pictures on its landscape. Electric Desert is one of seven similar displays across America in which gardens are illuminated in the most unique way imaginable.
Klip Collective, a video shop using various sensory techniques to create these spellbinding scenes, is responsible for the ingenious idea. Though founded in Philadelphia, their work can be seen all across the globe.
Psychedelic colors and patterns turn the plants into works of art. Couple that with pulsating beats, and the already majestic desert comes to life in an entirely different way.
Arrive before sunset and see the garden in its normal state to truly understand how stark a contrast it undergoes when night falls. This is one transformation you won't soon forget!
Electric Desert runs through May 12, 2019, and takes place on Sunday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
