I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
There are so many things to love about Phoenix. One of my favorite things is the mid-century modern buildings around town, some of which have been repurposed over the years. These places have retro vibes, something I’ve always loved. From restaurants to cafes and even hotels, these places are like time capsules, a peak into the city’s past. One such place is the Egyptian Motor Hotel located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Once you see all that this boutique hotel has to offer, you’ll want to book a stay ASAP.
Located in Downtown Phoenix is the retro-chic Egyptian Motor Hotel. This mid-century modern boutique hotel offers fun and a funky ambiance, unlike any other hotel in the area.
You can find the Egyptian Motor Hotel at 765 Grand Ave. in Phoenix, AZ.
Each of its 47 rooms offers a place to relax and unwind after hitting the eclectic downtown area. Amenities in each room include a Smart TV, free Wi-Fi, a retro dining table, a mini fridge, a microwave, and rain shower. This hotel is also dog-friendly so feel free to bring your pup.
There's a surcharge of $50 for pets and you can bring up to two.

Another option is the Airstream trailer. Included in this accommodation is a full-sized bed, a retro dining booth that fits four people, a lounge space, a microwave, a fridge, and a patio.
Of course, you can visit Chilte and Egyptian Live even if you're not staying at the hotel. However, you'll get the full experience if you spend the night!
