Did you know one of the most popular swimming holes in Arizona started off as something entirely different? Slide Rock State Park, beloved for its 80-foot-long natural waterslide, was originally an apple orchard and homestead built in the early 1900s. You can still see the original farmland and several historic cabins, plus (of course) try your hand at plunging down the slide.
Visit the Slide Rock State Park website or Facebook page for more information, such as current hours and entrance fees.
Have you ever been to Slide Rock State Park? If so, did you carve out any time to explore the apple orchards and homestead? Tell us all about your experience in the comments!
