I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Craving something a bit different than a standard, run-of-the-mill donut? You can elevate your donut experience with a trip to Chin Up Donuts! With two locations in Scottsdale, this woman-owned donut shop does donuts in the most extraordinary way. Once you try these incredibly unique donuts in Arizona, there will be no going back.
Alex McEntire is the self-proclaimed "Chief Donut Officer" of Chin Up Donuts in Scottsdale. Self-taught, she has created some of the most innovative and unexpected donut flavors imaginable. Chin Up Donuts first opened in 2020 and is one bakery every donut lover should visit.
Just take a look at this pretty donut. This is the Lavender Fields donut with a lavender glaze topped with dried lavender flowers. I bet you've never had one like this one before!
Along with Lavender Fields, other donuts from the "Mainstay" menu include Lemon Poppy, Brown Butter + Sea Salt, Ore-Oh!, The Birthday Suit with vanilla glaze and rainbow sprinkles, and The Everything Bagel Donut with vanilla glaze and Everything Bagel Seasoning.

How about a pizza donut? (Yes, you read that correctly). This is The Pizza Party, a donut covered in marinara and topped with shredded cheese and pepperoni. Needless to say, this is a savory donut that is certainly one-of-a-kind!
If you like a little heat with your sweet, try the Woah Wasabi donut. This yeast-raised donut has a sweet and spicy wasabi glaze with a drizzle of ginger-infused caramel.
Another rotational flavor to try when it's available is the PB & Yay. Topping a brioche donut is a peanut butter glaze with a jelly drizzle and chopped peanuts. Sounds good to me!
Here's another flavor I guarantee you've never had before (unless you've already been to Chin Up Donuts, of course) -- The Mac & Cheese Fritter. This is a fritter loaded with mac and cheese and topped with a cheesy glaze.
This is another treat offered on rotation and they sell out fast!
Once you order your donuts (and coffee, too!), feel free to take a seat in the stylish dining area. This is such a charming spot to meet up with friends for a treat, don't you think?
You can find Chin Up Donuts at 7325 E Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd., Suite 103, and 7021 E Main St. in Scottsdale, AZ.
