The Underrated Sandy Beach In Arizona You Absolutely Need To Visit
When most Arizonans think of a perfect, white sandy little beach, we probably don’t think of it in terms of having it mostly to ourselves. But think again! Sure, if you want a lively beach filled with people who are also having a great afternoon by the water, then Arizona does have those beaches too. And if you want a quiet day of alternating between dipping your toes in the white sand and in the blue water, then head to this little underrated gem on the Colorado River.
Cattail Cove State Park is located at State Highway 95, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. Day use swimmers should stick to the designated swimming areas. Swimming outside the designated area can mean heading into frigidly cold water temps. Waters are warmer near the shore of the sandy beach. The park is open for day use (non-overnight campers) from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Entry fees are as follows: Per Vehicle (1-4 Adults): $10 (Mon – Thu), $15 (Fri – Sun and holidays); Oversize Parking/Day Use (55′ or longer): $10 additional per day, Individual/Bicycle: $3.
