Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Cat cafes date to 1998, and the concept has quickly spread across the globe ever since. La Gattara Cat Lounge & Boutique in Tempe is a place where cat lovers can all come together and play games, drink coffee, do yoga, paint, and – of course – play with tons of adorable felines.
La Gattara is an extremely chill place where cat lovers can unite and play cards, and board games, listen to music, read books, and enjoy free wifi - all in the company of over a dozen adorable kitties. Whether you're looking to provide a "furrever" home or simply snuggle with some fluffy felines, everyone who enters the lounge has a pleasant experience.
Everywhere you look, pops of color and cat decor give the space a fun, eccentric vibe. Combine that with the actual cats slinking around, and it's a wild party all around.
While La Gattara doesn't serve coffee, you're welcome to grab a cup on the way and drink it inside. Infusion is right around the corner and makes some really delicious joe.
"Caturday Yoga" is held each Saturday at 10 a.m., facilitated by 800-hour certified teacher Lauren Doyle. Enjoy both challenging and restorative postures, sound healing, "meowditation," and plenty of deep stretches. The felines' favorite pose is definitely cat/cow, just in case you were wondering.
Other special events include "Mewvie night," painting, cat-themed Dungeons & Dragons tournaments, and so much more. It's nice to connect with like-minded people, especially when you know your furry friend is being kept plenty entertained.
If you are looking to adopt, everyone in the lounge is available (save for Charlie Chaplin.) There are 15-25 cats to choose from at any given time, spanning a wide range of ages, colors, and personalities.
