Nothing beats a big, fat, juicy burger, any time of day; any time of year. So we had to create a guide to Arizona’s best burger joints. Check these places out. You won’t regret it.
1. Rehab Burger Therapy
We've got it bad for this place in Scottsdale. Therapy has never been so delicious.
2. Benny's Burgers and BBQ
Straightforward classic burger awesomeness in Sun City, AZ. Bonus points for great service.
3. Zinburger Wine and Burger Bar
Two of my favorite things, wine and burgers, together at last in four cities: Tucson, Phoenix, Gilbert and Scottsdale.
4. Monkey Burger
This acclaimed burger joint in Tucson isn't monkeying around when it comes to burgers.
5. The Stand Burgers and Tacos
The Stand in Phoenix serves up fresh beef ground in-house and real hand spun milkshakes. Time to take a stand against boring chain burgers.
6. Rocket Burger and Subs
Another great place in Phoenix, with hundreds of types of sodas, now with an entire adjacent soda shop. Try the New York burger, which is almost a reuben/burger combo with pastrami and house-made coleslaw on a burger.
7. Diablo Burger
Located in Flagstaff and Tucson, with a Phoenix location coming soon, Diablo's signature is the local grass-fed beef and english muffin bun.
8. Haunted Hamburger
It's not just a funny name, this restaurant in Jerome, AZ, really claims to be haunted by ghosts, specifically ones that love hammers. Still most people agree the burgers and the spirits (pun intended) are totally worth the trip.
9. Paradise Valley Burger Company
At Paradise Valley in Phoenix the specialties include the brulee burger and country fried burger. These crazy geniuses love to get creative and will try anything, as seen here.
10. Mama Burger
Burgers even better than yo mama's served up daily in Flagstaff. No gimmicks, just great burgers (OK maybe a couple gimmicks, but not many.)
11. The Chuckbox
The Chuckbox in Tempe is old school, in that it's been serving local college students affordable burgers for decades, and that it's cash only. Don't bother parading your fancy credit cards around here, yuppies.
12. Joe's Farm Grill
Joe's in Gilbert, AZ, emphasizes common foods done uncommonly well, using local ingredients of the best quality, and was actually built from the owner's own family home. This place really exemplifies homegrown goodness.
