I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
If you’re someone who loves all things related to nature, Payson is the place to go. There’s so much natural beauty to behold here, and yet it’s not as overrun with tourists as places like Sedona and Flagstaff. Payson happens to be one of my favorite towns to visit in the state. While it’s a perfect day trip destination for those living in the Phoenix Metro area, it’s also a great spot for an overnight adventure. And we found just the place to stay! Perhaps the most unique place to stay in Payson, Arizona is a cabin with a treehouse that sits above the Mogollon Rim. In fact, we think it’s one of the most unique places to stay in Arizona.
The town of Payson is a wondrous place to immerse yourself in nature. One of my absolute favorite places to visit while I'm here is Water Wheel Falls. Not only can you take one of the trails and hike around this gorgeous area but you can take a dip in the many watering holes and waterfalls along the way.

And then there's Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, a place I find myself at every time I take a day trip to the area. Located off of the ultra-scenic Beeline Highway, this state park is home to what is said to be the largest travertine bridge in the world. It's quite a natural wonder!

If you want to really get to know Payson and the surrounding areas, we suggest you spend a night or two or longer here. There's one incredible vacation rental you should consider booking. The Top of the Rim Cabin + Treehouse sits among Ponderosa pines and offers spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim!
This exceptional vacation rental offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms and can accommodate up to 10 guests. This is the perfect spot for a large group getaway.
By staying here, you pretty much get two places in one -- a cabin and a treehouse. While the cabin is as charming as can be, the treehouse looks like it belongs in a fairytale.
Head outside and there's a whole yard to play. Sit out on the deck and take in the views, relax around the fire pit, allow the kids to play...this is the best accommodation in the area for both indoor and outdoor living!
