These 6 Charming Waterfront Towns In Arizona Are Perfect For A Daytrip
Arizona may not be particularly well known for its water sources. In fact, many of the few lakes we have are actually human-made reservoirs. Despite that, we have a handful of towns and cities that border water sources and many of them are quite charming. Here’s a look at six of them.

This is one of the lovely Verde Valley towns that made our list and what a sight it is. The Verde River runs through the east side of town, borders a couple of parks, and the area looks so beautiful and green! Most businesses and inns are located a short walk from the river and Blazin’ M Ranch sits right at its banks.

If you’ve never been to Greer, you’re missing out! This tiny town is a lovely travel destination throughout the year and you’ll find plenty of water from the Little Colorado River and adjacent ponds for your summer activities. It’s perfect if you love fishing, kayaking, or just sitting out by the water. You’ll also find that many of the lodges and resorts sit right up against the river, giving you ready access to the beautiful sight.

Did you know Lake Havasu City was named one of the top waterfront towns in the country? The city sits right along the Colorado River, which is its primary recreation area. The London Bridge sits here next to restaurants and shops while white sand beaches line the shore. It also helps that rugged mountains sit off in the distance on both sides of the city, creating a unique landscape you won’t find elsewhere.

We’re headed back to the White Mountains for this picturesque small town brimming with lakes, creeks, and streams. A walk through town will show you exactly why it’s a major destination for hiking, camping, and fishing.

Granite Creek, Watson Lake, and reservoir sit right at the edge of this city and add to the feeling of a waterfront town even if most of the town’s businesses sit a few miles away. This is the perfect spot to hop into a canoe or kayak and spend an afternoon on the lake without leaving town.

This picturesque town is made even more beautiful with Oak Creek winding right on through it. Inns, restaurants, resorts, and private homes sit a short distance from the lush creek. If you’re lucky, your hotel room will open right out to the creek!
