10 Reasons Arizona Is Seriously Underrated As A Tourist Destination

When it comes to travel, Arizona doesn’t always make the top of the list and that’s a shame. Sure, a few of our most popular areas tend to get some degree of national (and international) recognition but for the most part our state flies under the radar. Personally, I think Arizona should be among your top contenders for travel plans, even if you already live here! Here are a few reasons you should consider our beautiful state for your next vacation.
1. Arizona has awesome weather throughout the year.
No matter what time of the year you plan to travel, Arizona has some amazing weather. Looking for a chance to cool down in the summer? You might want to head to Flagstaff or the White Mountains to experience some cool mountain air and chilly nights. Or maybe you need to defrost this winter. In that case, a trip to Arizona’s southern region will do the trick with its mild temperatures and bright, sunny days.
2. We have many, incredible natural attractions that look like a dreamscape.
Have you ever seen a photo of Antelope Canyon? Or the Wave at Vermilion Cliffs National Monument? Or the view from Massai Point at Chiricahua National Monument? Or the Mittens at Monument Valley? I could keep going but I think you get the picture.

3. An impressive number of those natural attractions are protected areas that, if we do things right, won’t suffer from unnecessary development.
The best part of visiting places like the Grand Canyon, Oak Flat, or other natural areas is the peaceful environment that sits almost undisturbed by human use.

4. While we’re at it, you’ll find tons of outdoorsy things to do around the state.
The Mexican food is awesome but if you’ve already eaten more tacos and tamales than you can handle, we also have plenty of other award-winning restaurants that offer cuisine from all around the world. Also, that Navajo taco above needs waaaay more salsa.
10. Arizona’s hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast inns are comfortable, plenty, and, most importantly, affordable.
Do you know how difficult it is to try booking a room in plenty of other states for less than $100 per night, especially in urban areas? It’s almost impossible!
Okay, maybe I’m a little biased when it comes to traveling in Arizona but I have a hard time finding any place more diverse and beautiful! How do you think Arizona rates as a travel destination?
