The Verde Canyon Railroad is one of the few still-operating railroad lines here in Arizona and runs from Clarkdale, through Verde Canyon, up to Perkinsville about 20 miles away. The line has several different themed rides it offers throughout the year but the most colorful one happens each year in October and November.

During this season, the winding Verde Canyon looks even more picturesque. The trees along the Verde River take on a warmer hue and make a typical ride along the river, over bridges, and through a long tunnel even more stunning.

First-class, coach, and caboose seating are available, and each has their own open-air viewing options so that you can feel the cool autumn breeze while viewing the canyon landscape.
The ride to the ghost town of Perkinsville and back to Clarkdale typically takes four hours and is accommodating to groups and families. Food and drink options are available (and service depends on which seating section you choose).
