9 Things You Really Have To Do In Arizona This Summer
Think summertime in Arizona is limited to hiding from the sun with a chilly air conditioner? Think again! There are plenty of activities to do around the state besides sitting in a movie theatre or swimming in the pool for the 56th time this month. Check out a few of these activities that will get you up and around this summer.

If you have a need to get away from it all while still staying a reasonable distance to home, we suggest camping anywhere along the Mogollon Rim. There are literally dozens of campsites to choose from and each have different accommodations (like bathrooms and showers) and attractions (like fishing and hiking trails).

Speaking of the great outdoors, another great option is to hike any of the trails along the San Francisco Peaks. Summer is a great time to go because you encounter little chance of a freak snow storm and the temperatures are quite nice.

Take part in America’s favorite pastime during one of their home games at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Maybe with some luck, you’ll catch a ball!

This WNBA team has been on fire in recent years and you still have a couple months to catch their games before the Suns take the court when the NBA season gets started.

This is a regional pastime in the Phoenix area. Load up on the sunscreen and remember to follow rules and tips given by Salt River Tubing.

Actually, winter in the high country is the best time to observe stars but who wants to risk getting icy feet in 20 degree (or colder) weather? Sitting in the chilled night air looking for falling stars and trying to spot the Space Station is a peaceful activity in the rural areas. The large observatories, like Kitt Peak and Lowell, do offer some evening watching at their sites but if you want to do it for free, just drive an hour outside any major urban area.

If you want to cool off naturally, go underground into one of Arizona’s public caves. Bring a light jacket because the temperature can get chilly fast!
