Arizona is full of amazing restaurants in both our big cities and tiny towns. If you haven’t found your favorite small town restaurant, you’re in luck! Today, we’re highlighting six towns that have restaurants where you are sure to come across some delicious food. For this list, we’re looking at towns with a population of less than 10,000 but still have restaurants that serve impressive meals! See what we were able to come up with.
This railroad town is about 45 miles southeast of Tucson and is home to some mighty fine restaurants! One particular favorite here is Mi Casa Restaurant, a fantastic Mexican restaurant that serves meals Baja-style with incredible flavor and presentation. You can also grab some deliciously unique, gourmet hot dogs at Wild Dogs or for a more traditional American meal, visit Horseshoe Cafe.
This mining town has more going for it than many people want to think! The food here is also delicious so if you find yourself here for a couple of days, be prepared to eat one tasty meal after another. For breakfast or lunch, try The Copper Hen Bakery or Copper Country Rendevous; they have similar names, are located a short distance from each other, and serve meals that are 100-percent delicious. If you’re craving Mexican, you need to visit Guayo’s On The Trail, and for burgers try out the unique Nurd Berger Cafe!
Headed to the mountains? If you’re staying in Heber-Overgaard, then you have quite the number of tasty diners to choose from! A couple of favorites include June’s Cafe and Three Bears Cafe, both of which fit right into the mountain cabin experience. If you are hungry for something a little more spicy, then check out Casa Ramos.
Located just a glance away from Mount Graham, Safford is home to some delicious Mexican food. Five of its restaurants are along the Arizona Salsa Trail, including Casa Mañana. If you’re craving just fresh, hot, homemade tortillas to take home, then you need to visit Mi Casa Tortilla Factory for an incredible variety that includes blueberry and apple cinnamon in addition to the tasty standard tortillas. Or, if you happen to be looking for a place to get breakfast or lunch with a side of espresso, then you’ll want to try Main Street Cafe.
If traveling Route 66 is something you’ll be doing sometime soon, then we have a few favorite restaurants on the west side of the state! First up is Seligman, which is home to the very famous Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In, a restaurant with an eclectic décor you won’t forget and delicious burgers and shakes. You should also try out Westside Lilo’s Cafe, a rustic restaurant known for its perfectly cooked steaks and mouthwatering desserts.
In Williams, you’ll find tons of restaurants located right along Route 66, which is also where you will find each of the following restaurants. For breakfast, try out Grand Canyon Coffee and Cafe, which serves delicious espresso drinks with your eggs and toast but also has an interesting menu that includes Mexican and Asian cuisine for lunch. Get dinner at Red Raven or Dara Thai Cafe, both of which offer scrumptious meals in a more formal setting.
