While most of the country has been shivering in arctic temperatures and shoveling away tons of snow, there are plenty of areas in Arizona where the winter has been incredibly mild. (In fact, I’m sitting outside under a warm sun writing this right now!) Make the most of the winter temperatures here by enjoying a meal outside.
One such place to enjoy a meal outside is at Dillon’s Bayou, a waterfront restaurant located at Lake Pleasant.
This restaurant sits in the Pleasant Harbor, right next to the marina and about 15 miles from the nearest community, Anthem. The building has tall windows and plenty of outdoor seating so you can soak up the sun even in winter!
Your journey to the restaurant starts here and you’ll need to cross the long walkway to get there. It’s the perfect excuse to get in a small amount of exercise and watch the boats float by.
Dillon’s serves up Kansas City-style barbecue, which means the meats are spice-rubbed, slow smoked, and served with a thick barbecue sauce. One of their signature dishes is a KC-favorite: burnt ends.
Other entree items include burgers, fish sandwiches, and a smoked sausage platter.
The street address for Dillon’s Bayou is 40202 North 87th Avenue in Peoria, but you will want to drive further west down 87th Avenue towards the harbor to access the restaurant. You can find details about the restaurant’s menu, hours of operation, and more by visiting their website or Facebook page.
