When people think of Arizona, images of water and islands rarely come to mind. But did you know Arizona is home to quite a few islands? Most didn’t exist until the reservoirs were filled but they’re still considered islands these days. Here are a few islands that you can visit right here in Arizona:

This large island in Lake Powell is large and flat with some decent beaches. It is accessible if the water level is high enough and some people have camped there as well.

Originally a peninsula in the Colorado River, part of founder Robert McCulloch's vision for Lake Havasu City included an island. These days you cross the London Bridge to get to this makeshift island.

This island sits on the Arizona side of the Colorado River and Lake Mead. It is currently uninhabited and undeveloped but some people visit it when boating in the area.
