Halloween isn’t all about candy and dressing up. For plenty of people out there, the major draw to celebrating the spooktacular holiday is to get a rush of adrenaline from getting scared. If you happen to be a thrill seeker, make sure to add one of these haunted houses to your to-do list this month!

Routinely voted one of the best haunted houses in the state, the 13th Floor has two attractions squeezed into 60,000 square feet. Both feature monsters and other nightmarish creatures jumping out, yelling, and even chasing you. Yikes!

The 13th Floor Haunted House is located at 2814 West Bell Road in Phoenix. Tickets start at $24.99 and operating hours can be found on their website.

Not sure one or two haunted houses will be enough to induce your fright? Arizona’s Original Scream Park has four houses to choose from, each with their own unique themes with some serious scares awaiting you. These include "Horror High," the "Zombie Infirmary," "Gold Miner’s Revenge," and "Clown Terror" which requires 3-D glasses for participation.

Arizona’s Original Scream Park is located at 8823 East McDowell Road in Scottsdale. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 7pm to 10pm and tickets start at $23 for access to two houses (it will cost $28 for access to all four houses). Tickets can be purchased on their website or at the door.

3. The Crypt Haunted Attractions, Mesa

Need a good adrenaline rush in the East Valley? The Crypt Haunted Attractions has their namesake haunted house, along with an asylum themed haunted house and a “Chaos Maze” aimed at younger patrons. Each will give you a different fright level so be sure to have your big kid pants on and be ready to run!

The Crypt Haunted Attractions is located in the Fiesta Mall parking lot in Mesa, at 1445 West Southern Avenue. They are open Wednesday through Sunday and every day during Halloween week. You can purchase tickets at their website; all three attractions will $23.

5. The Gauntlet Haunted House at Golfland Fright Nights, Mesa

This usually jolly family-friendly location gets an eerie makeover during October just in time for Halloween. Visit the haunted house here and play a round of miniature golf with the kids in a delightfully spooky location. The Gauntlet Haunted House is located at 155 West Hampton Avenue in Mesa. They are open Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 7pm and admission to the haunted house costs $15.

Ever wondered what a more sinister version of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme would entail? This haunted house in Phoenix gives you a gory idea and features some frightening scenes. However, if your child is looking for a less intense scare, try visiting during their daytime hours for a tour around the haunted house minus the panic-inducing actors.

If you’re looking for a larger version of a haunted house, try a visit to Old Tucson’s Nightfall event. The entire "town" is decorated for Halloween and in addition to haunted houses, they also have live shows and food available if a turkey leg is the only thing that will soothe your scared self.

Nightfall is located at Old Tucson, 201 South Kinney Road. It is open Thursdays through Sundays for the month of October starting at 6pm. Admission is $26 for visitors 12 and older, and $21 for children ages 9 to 11.

In this asylum-themed haunted house, you can get a good, adrenaline pumping scare! The Sanctum of Horror is located at Superstition Mall, 6555 East Southern Avenue in Mesa. It's open Friday to Sunday from 7pm to 11pm and admission is $15 per person.
