While many other states around the country are buried under snow, Arizona’s southern regions typically see mild weather. Cool days, cold nights, and plenty of sun. Sounds like the perfect way to spend winter, does it not? Our agricultural fields certainly seem to think so!
During the winter months, Arizona is the ideal place to grow winter vegetables and you can shop for them in one of Arizona’s largest farmers markets. Let’s take a look!
The Heirloom Farmers Market at Rillito Park is located in the Rillito Food Pavilion at 4502 North 1st Avenue in Tucson. It is held every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm between October and March, and from 8 am to 12 pm between April and September. Other markets are held in Tucson’s Trail Dust Town, Oro Valley, and Green Valley. You can find details on their website or Facebook page.
