When was the last time you visited a drive-in theater? As a child enjoying a night out with family? Or perhaps as a teenager enjoying fleeting moments of adult-like freedom? I think most people over the age of 30 have at least some memory of attending a drive-in with family, friends, or on a date.
While these types of theaters are slowly disappearing, Arizona has just one left in the entire state and you’ll definitely want to pay it a visit.
The West Wind Glendale Drive-In is located near Grand Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Glendale.
It may be the last drive-in theatre in the state but it's still going strong! You'll find it busy and filled with all kinds of people ready to watch back to back showings once the sun sets.
If it's been awhile since you've been to a drive-in, things still operate similarly to how they always have. Pay at the front, drive up to an empty space, then tune in to an FM station for the sound.
The theatre occasionally holds free movie nights and pre-movie events for the family. They have games, contests, face painting, and plenty of other fun things.
West Wind Glendale Drive-In is located at 5650 North 55th Avenue in Glendale. You can find details about admission and movie times on their website or Facebook page.
