Happy Sunday, everyone! If you’re looking for a reason to make today another lazy Sunday, there’s no better way to do so than by enjoying your favorite caffeinated drink while reading the paper. I prefer starting my morning reading the Sunday paper with a hot coffee, (black with a touch of sugar,) but I’ll occasionally treat myself to a vanilla latte. If you need some inspiration for a local coffeehouse, here are some places to check out that are a little different from the Starbucks on the corner.
1. Bergies Coffee Roast House (Gilbert)
This coffee shop roasts their own beans on-site, so you know all of their coffee is going to be fresh and flavorful. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the coffee house and grounds look adorable.
Location: 309 North Gilbert Road in Gilbert
2. Bisbee Coffee Company (Bisbee)
Home to one of the few and best coffee houses in southeastern Arizona, this is another coffee house that roasts on-site. They also offer some tasty sandwiches and pastries to enjoy with your coffee.
Location: 2 Copper Queen Plaza in Bisbee
3. Cartel Coffee Lab (Tempe)
Tucked away behind a comic book shop and Buffalo Exchange, Cartel is a nice gem that offers delicious coffee in a hipster setting. They also have locations in Phoenix, Tucson, and Scottsdale.
Location: 225 West University Drive in Tempe
4. Chae's Coffee (Cottonwood)
If latte art is something you need first thing in the morning, Chae's Coffee offers that plus a tasty drink.
Location: 1100 State Route 260, Suite C5 in Cottonwood
5. Coffee Rush (Chandler)
This is one of my sister's favorite locations, especially as a place to catch up with friends. Don't forget to order a pastry with your drink; they are decadent!
Location: 1949 West Ray Road, Suite 40 in Chandler
6. The Coffee Shop (Gilbert)
This place is the perfect setting for getting your day started on the right foot. Plus their coffee and food options truly hit the spot!

7. Crave Coffee Bar (Tucson)
I don't know what drink that is pictured above but I definitely want that! They offer a nice variety of specialty drinks and I recommend trying out the chocolate biscotti drink for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Location: 4530 East Broadway Boulevard in Tucson
8. Cuppers (Prescott)
This coffeehouse isn't exclusive to coffee; they also offer some delicious pastries and meal options to go along with your caffeine.

Here's another local coffeehouse that roasts its own beans. This place makes a great little escape from the daily grind plus you can take home a bag of fresh roasted beans.
Location: 2350 Miracle Mile, Suite 306 in Bullhead City
10. Late for the Train (Flagstaff)
There are actually several locations found in Flagstaff but I like this spot found a short distance from the Amtrak. It's great for people watching and has a great atmosphere for work. Oh, yeah, and the coffee is great, too!
Location: 22 East Birch Avenue in Flagstaff
11. Lola Coffee (Phoenix)
If you're looking for a delicious, well-pulled espresso, this is one of my favorite Phoenix locations to find it. They also have great food; give one of their omelettes a try! (By the way, the picture above shows the store's rear entrance.)
Location: 1001 North 3rd Avenue in Phoenix
12. MOJO Coffee House (Winslow)
I actually visit Winslow pretty often because my mom lives nearby. Whenever I need reliable Internet and a latte, this is my go-to place. They offer a wide variety of drinks but just a plain ol' drip is great.
Location: 1700 North Park Drive in Winslow
13. North End Coffeehouse (Yuma)
This new business serves up some of the tastiest coffee you will find in the Yuma area. It doesn't hurt that the interiors look absolutely charming.
Location: 202 South 1st Avenue, Suite 203 in Yuma
14. Pinetop Coffee House (Pinetop-Lakeside)
Cute and small, this coffee house also roasts their own coffee beans in-house. What better way to rejuvenate when the snow really starts falling?
Location: 857 East White Mountain Boulevard in Pinetop-Lakeside
15. Posada Java (Green Valley)
If you happen to find yourself in Green Valley, this is a great little spot to stop for a drink, pastries, and even live piano music.
Location: 665 South Park Centre Avenue in Green Valley
16. White Dove Coffee Shop (Flagstaff)
This place was a fairly recent discovery for me even though it has been in operation for ten years. It's a great little place to work or chat with a coffee in hand.
Location: 2211 East 7th Avenue in Flagstaff
