Happy Sunday, everyone! If you’re looking for a reason to make today another lazy Sunday, there’s no better way to do so than by enjoying your favorite caffeinated drink while reading the paper. I prefer starting my morning reading the Sunday paper with a hot coffee, (black with a touch of sugar,) but I’ll occasionally treat myself to a vanilla latte. If you need some inspiration for a local coffeehouse, here are some places to check out that are a little different from the Starbucks on the corner.
This coffee shop roasts their own beans on-site, so you know all of their coffee is going to be fresh and flavorful. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the coffee house and grounds look adorable.
Home to one of the few and best coffee houses in southeastern Arizona, this is another coffee house that roasts on-site. They also offer some tasty sandwiches and pastries to enjoy with your coffee.
Tucked away behind a comic book shop and Buffalo Exchange, Cartel is a nice gem that offers delicious coffee in a hipster setting. They also have locations in Phoenix, Tucson, and Scottsdale.
This is one of my sister's favorite locations, especially as a place to catch up with friends. Don't forget to order a pastry with your drink; they are decadent!
Location: 1949 West Ray Road, Suite 40 in Chandler
I don't know what drink that is pictured above but I definitely want that! They offer a nice variety of specialty drinks and I recommend trying out the chocolate biscotti drink for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Here's another local coffeehouse that roasts its own beans. This place makes a great little escape from the daily grind plus you can take home a bag of fresh roasted beans.
Location: 2350 Miracle Mile, Suite 306 in Bullhead City
There are actually several locations found in Flagstaff but I like this spot found a short distance from the Amtrak. It's great for people watching and has a great atmosphere for work. Oh, yeah, and the coffee is great, too!
If you're looking for a delicious, well-pulled espresso, this is one of my favorite Phoenix locations to find it. They also have great food; give one of their omelettes a try! (By the way, the picture above shows the store's rear entrance.)
I actually visit Winslow pretty often because my mom lives nearby. Whenever I need reliable Internet and a latte, this is my go-to place. They offer a wide variety of drinks but just a plain ol' drip is great.
This place was a fairly recent discovery for me even though it has been in operation for ten years. It's a great little place to work or chat with a coffee in hand.
Location: 2211 East 7th Avenue in Flagstaff
