Yay, the weekend is here! If you’re looking for something to do after (or before) you see the new Star Wars film, I’d like to suggest checking out at least one of these amazing Christmas displays you can find right here in Arizona.
1. Courthouse Plaza (Prescott)
Now in its 61st year of lighting the town jewel, Prescott's Courthouse Plaza is well-known for its lovely light displays.
Location : Courthouse Square is located in Prescott at Montezuma and Goodwin Streets.
Cost : Free.
2. Glendale Glitters (Glendale)
See quite a few blocks of historic downtown Glendale all lit up each night from 5pm to 11pm until January 9. They also have special entertainment on the weekends so don't miss it!
Location : A good place to start observing the lights and get in the action is at 58th and Glendale Avenues.

3. Las Noches de las Luminarias (Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix)
Not only will you see thousands of luminarias emit a soft glow across the gardens but you can also check out this year's new outdoor exhibition from Bruce Munro.
Location : 1201 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix.
Cost : General public tickets run $30 for adults and $12.50 for children 3 to 12. Children under 3 are free.
4. North Pole Experience (Little America Hotel, Flagstaff)
If you want to really surprise the kids this year, be sure to check out the North Pole Experience in Flagstaff where they can get a tour of Santa's workshop, meet the elves, Mrs. Claus, and Santa himself. There is also a beautiful light display just outside to help get you in the mood as well.
Location : The North Pole Experience and light displays are located at the Little America Hotel, 2515 East Butler Avenue, Flagstaff.
Cost : Tickets start at $38 for adults and $34 for children for day time visits. The outdoor light display is free.
5. Temple Gardens Christmas Lights (Mormon Temple, Mesa)
Pretty displays matched up with equally beautiful music, this is a great spot to wind down from the week and get ready for Christmas next week!
Location : 101 South Lesueur, Mesa.
Cost : Free.
6. Tinsel Town (Posse Grounds Park, Sedona)
For a weekend in Sedona, be sure to add a visit to Tinsel Town to your to-do list. Operating Thursdays through Sundays from 6pm to 9pm until January 3, these light displays are breathtaking and even occasionally dance to music!
Location : 525 Posse Grounds Park, Sedona.
Cost : Free.
7. WildLights (Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary, Prescott)
WildLights at Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary in Prescott puts on a lovely display of lights once their animals turn in for the night. The event is open Fridays and Saturdays until January 2.
Location : Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary is located at 1403 Heritage Park Road in Prescott.
Cost : Admission is $3 for zoo members and $5 for non-members.
8. Wild Wonderland (Bearizona, Williams)
If you're a fan of Bearizona, you'll definitely want to check it out this month for a special lighted version. The displays are up from now until December 28 and you can visit between 5pm and 8pm.
Location : 1500 East Route 66, Williams.
Cost : $10 per person.
9. Winterhaven Festival of Lights (Tucson)
If you thought your neighborhood had a great light display, wait until you see this one. The entire neighborhood, which includes the aptly named street Christmas Avenue, gets decked out for the holidays and offers several ways to observe the lights: by bike, trolley, and wagon. It operates every evening through December 26 from 6pm to 10pm.
Location : The Winterhaven neighborhood is located at Tucson Boulevard and Fort Lowell Road.
Cost : The event is free, however, they do request a canned food or monetary donation for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
10. Winter Wonderland (Butterfly Wonderland, Scottsdale)
What's more magical than butterflies and angels? See both in action at Butterfly Wonderland's special holiday event where they decorate the butterfly atrium with Christmas decorations and have live "angels" on display along with thousands of butterflies flitting around. The display is up through December 23 from 10am to 4:30pm.
Location : 9500 East Via de Ventura, Scottsdale.
Cost : Admission is $27.95 for adults, $19.95 for children ages 3 to 15, and free for children under 3.
11. ZooLights (Phoenix Zoo, Phoenix)
It might be a bit cold for native Phoenicians right now but a visit to ZooLights at least once this time of year is a must. The zoo is covered in beautiful colored lights, there are lit animal displays, and fun activities for the kids. The displays are up nightly from 5:30pm to 10:30pm from now through January 10.
Location : 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix.
Cost : Admission varies by night but general admission is $18 per person.
12. Zoo Lights (Reid Park Zoo, Tucson)
For those in southern Arizona looking for lighted zoo fun, be sure to check out the displays at Reid Park Zoo through December 23. Vist between 6pm and 8pm each night, or for after Christmas fun, visit December 26 and 27.
Location : 3400 Zoo Court, Tucson.
Cost : Admission is $9 for adults, $5 for children 2 to 14, and children under 2 are free.
