Breakfast is often touted as the most important meal of the day. Growing up, it meant eating a bowl of oatmeal or a scrambled egg with toast before school or having a hearty breakfast on the weekends. That weekend breakfast was always my favorite, not just for the plateful of eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, tortillas and pancakes, but also for the time my family got to spend together eating, chatting and reading the paper.
As a grown-up who lives away from family, it’s rough not being able to walk down the hall to the kitchen for breakfast with my parents and siblings ,but sometimes we like to go out to breakfast together. Since I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants, here are some favorite places in Arizona that are great spots to enjoy a meal with your loved ones.
Want a small town diner experience in the middle of Tucson? Bread & Butter Cafe offers just that with some delicious food. Plus, their cinnamon rolls are amazing!
If you don't mind paying a little bit more for something other than typical diner breakfast fare, The Flatiron is a place to check out when staying in Jerome. Plus, they have options for vegetarians and those on a gluten-free diet.
Want something a little different for breakfast? How does a Mexican style breakfast sound? This is the place to try because of the long list of options! Try the chilaquiles!
While the menu is limited and the wait for seating can be awhile, Matt's is known for delivering a delicious breakfast right to your table. Plus, I love the thick-cut bacon. Yum!
Be prepared to leave this restaurant with a very full tummy. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. Plus you won't want to give up a bite of some deep fried French toast.
Please note, Sweet Potato Cafe is no longer in business.
You know what makes pancakes even tastier? When they arrive topped with cinnamon butter. Yum!
Location: 443 Miller Valley Road, Prescott
