These Swimming Spots In Arizona Were Named The Best In The Country
With huge portions of our state classified as desert land and some intense hot weather, finding a place to cool off and splash around when the summer temperatures rise is a must. Our state has plenty of beautiful spots (both natural and human-made) that do the job but some places really stand out above the rest. This month, two shows on the Travel Channel will highlight three Arizona swimming spots that are known for their allure. Read on to see which ones will be featured:

This is arguably the most popular waterfall here and perhaps the most dramatic one with its 100-foot drop that roars down to a blue-green pool. Access to the waterfall requires an 8-mile hike from Hualapai Hilltop down to Supai Village that can be taken by foot or mule. Of course, if you really have money to waste, you can also take a helicopter down but you’re missing out on an amazing experience!

In recent years, thanks in part to the location’s overwhelming popularity, the park has required major clean up from an accumulation of trash, E. coli, and other bacterias in the water and surrounding areas. The area is presently safe for use but we want to make sure it stays that way so remember to pack it in, pack it out and follow the Leave No Trace principles when visiting any of these natural locations.

The episode will focus on the Maximum Velocity ride, which is the long yellow and blue water slides that sends riders speeding through 830 feet of curves, swerves, and drops. Definitely make sure you don’t eat right before getting on this ride!
