Our neighbor New Mexico may be king when it comes to hot air balloon festivals but it’s becoming a more common event here in Arizona. Today, we’re going to take a look at one balloon festival that not only promises a fun day but is also the largest balloon festival you can find during an otherwise chilly January.
Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair will be hosting its eighth annual event, where you’ll get to see dozens of hot air balloons take flight over a three-day period. The mild winter temperatures in Lake Havasu City make this the ideal place to host the event in January.
This event also happens to be one of the only hot air balloon festivals that takes place in the winter months and is the largest to take place in January. In fact, it is also slowly growing into one of the largest such events in Arizona!
The event attracts hundreds of people to Lake Havasu City. During the three-day event, you'll get a chance to meet the pilots, attend a carnival, watch a dog agility show, and even live music. Oh, yeah, and watch the balloons take off, of course!
The 8th Annual Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair commences January 19, 2018, and will run through the 21st at Lake Havasu State Park in Lake Havasu City. You can find details about the event and purchase tickets on their website, havasuballoonfest.com.
