I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Situated south of Sedona along Oak Creek in the Verde Valley is the small charming town of Cornville. Here you will find Arizona’s very own wine country. Throughout the landscape grapes can grow and, therefore, numerous wineries have sprung up in this region over the years. One small-town winery in Arizona that’s certainly worth discovering is Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery. And with a selection of award-winning wine, you’ll be glad you came for a visit.
Not too far from Sedona in the community of Cornville is Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery. It sits on 11 stunning acres by House Mountain and its volcanic soil. Due to the elevation, climate, and rich soil, this is an ideal area of Arizona for grapes to grow.
Oak Creek Vineyards is family-owned and the owners believe that wine should be shared and enjoyed with others, including family. And they encourage you to bring the kids and bring your fur babies, after all, this is both a family-friendly and dog-friendly winery!
You'll love the casual vibe here at the winery. From the tasting room to the patio, the relaxed atmosphere is a favorite attribute to locals and travelers alike. You can opt for a white or red wine flight or the staff-pick flight.
Not only are there wines but wine cocktails as well. There's red sangria, white sangria, and a weekend wine cocktail that's available Friday through Sunday. It's nice to have options like these!
The vineyard is also home to a couple of award-winning wines, in particular, the 2021 Select Sauvignon Blanc and 2021 Select Sangiovese. You might also want to try a glass from the Oak Creek Vineyards Estate Bottled Wine collection, like the Merlot and Barbera.
Part of the Verde Valley Wine Trail, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery encourages you to try other wineries in the area as well. Visit the Verde Valley Wine Trail website to view a list of wineries.
