I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Do you have kids or grandkids or even great-grandkids? Chances are, you’ve taken them to quite a few playgrounds where they can have some fun while expending some energy. I’ve been to my fair share of playgrounds with my kids over the years and know how important it is for them to get some fresh air and exercise. If you’re not sure where some of the best playgrounds in Arizona are, we’re here to help! Here are seven top playgrounds around the state:
Located in the central part of Tucson is the 131-acre Gene C. Reid Park. Here you'll find a dog park, a rose garden, a 24-acre zoo, baseball fields, an aquatic center, walking paths, and playgrounds for different age groups. You can spend an entire day here with the family!
Parents will love the playground at Posse Grounds Park. Why? Well, not only will the kid have fun playing on the structures but parents enjoy the gorgeous red rock views!
Perhaps the coolest and most unusual-looking playground is the one found at Mesa's Signal Butte Park. This one-of-a-kind playground will certainly inspire your kids to use their imaginations!
If you live in Chandler and have kids, you've most likely taken them to the playground at Homestead North Park. With play structure for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds, you can bring the whole family and let the kids have some fun! There are also picnic ramadas in the park so take some lunch and snacks and stay a few hours.
Chaparral Park in Scottsdale is one of those parks that seems to have it all. It also happens to be one of my favorite parks in the city! With its location along the greenbelt, it's scenic and offers a lot in terms of recreation. There's a duck pond, an epic dog park, the Xeriscape Garden to explore, tennis courts, ball fields...you get the idea. But best of all, its playground is inclusive and shaded.
Friendship Park in Avondale offers a shaded playground as well as a splash pad. Kids can come here to play for a while and then cool off in the summer!
Kids will love the playground at Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek! There's even an inclusive playground to enjoy as well as a phenomenal splash pad.
Have you taken your kids to any of the playgrounds on the list? Do you know of any others that could be considered one of the best playgrounds in Arizona? Please mention them in the comments.
